@KOLOWAVES we share some things, however, maori designs are quite unlike other poly designs, both in meaning and style. one thing is for sure tho, all of us had tattoos for hundreds of years before we were taken over…..

  4. KOLOWAVES says:

I think the word would be polynesian , since most polynesian share similar patterns just different names

    “Dirty” is modern generation’s perspectives.

u got it all wrong :-)
Nothing wrong with Maori tattoos….quite the opposite :-)

I simply commenting on the tattoos being refererred to as Maori…when they ought to be referred to as Polynesian influenced…or Hawaiian…

    As for the travel part…
What I meant to say was:
If you’re into Maori tattoos….why not go to NZ or the Cooks -

well…there are many maori patterning that are made up of nuthin but triangles. taniko weaving for a start, tukutuku panels, pou tamatau. triangles feature greatly in the traditional mahi toi in all island nations here in the pacific. maori and hawai’ans are related. we have the same gods, words and histories. long live my island bros an sis’s…..

  18. nguha313 says:

all good. i liked the vid btw.

i saw this video of a maori moko being put on. they had replicated the old style of putting deep grooves in the skin, they were ‘carving the skin” just as in the old days. it looked mean as. beautiful patterns grooved about 2 mm deep. too much alright;)

  19. Nofilia1 says:

maori tattoos( tamoko) are so much better than dumb ass triangles!!!!

  20. punX12Unite says:
