Question of the Day: What is Your Favorite Hawaiian Food?

At the tweetup at Highway Inn (@highwayinn) in Waipahu, Hawaii, we enjoyed an ono (Hawaiian for delicious) Hawaiian food. Here are peoples responses. What is your favorite Hawaiian food or Hawaiian food you’d like to try?

    Dono if i could eat that on my first vist to Hawaii …. I would need to gragually get used to your food I think = S The black LAU LAU stuff looks like… = x

    I took a cook book out from the library recently by Levi Roots… I’m going to try make some of his stuff = p

    His sauce is amazing!

    LOL I actually had to take leftovers home because I was busy shooting this. It was great though, because while people were eating froyo, I was chowing on this.

    I have never had Hawaiian food. But I have had Hawaiian pizza made hear in California, which is probably not a real Hawaiian pizza.

    Aside from Pineapple which I am allergic to, I have never eaten anything I know to be Hawaiian. I of course never believed that Pizza Hut Hawaiian was actually Hawaiian. Before Traci my Hawaiian connection was watching Jack Lord chase bad guys.

    According to Wikipedia, it is native to the southern part of Brazil, and Paraguay.

    You’re obviously not far off – pineapple was a major industry in Hawaii. I still enjoy getting tours at Dole Cannery, where they have cute pineapple crops growing there. *The* best thing ever though IMO: Dole pineapple cone :)
